Why Dyson Vacuums?

A British technology company established only in 1987 by James Dyson, Dyson Ltd actually designs and manufactures a range of household appliances, including vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters and hair dryers. However, Dyson’s vacuum cleaners take predominance and that’s what Dyson is popular for.

Fixing the Flaws of the Modern Bagged Vacuum

The Dyson line of vacuum cleaners was inspired by the lacking features and poor usability of modern vacuums, such as using bags to trap dust only to become clogged, dampening and destroying suction power. To solve this obvious flaw in most vacuum cleaners, James Dyson sought to imitate the centrifugal separators used in industrial settings for removing sawdust and debris from the air and to place this smaller-scale similar technology inside a vacuum cleaner.

5,127 prototype designs later and still without much success, Dyson licensed its technology to a Japanese company named Apex Ltd, who reworked this cyclonic technology and released it as G-Force, which eventually became a status symbol there. Dyson then went on to take the income from that Japanese license deal to establish Dyson Appliances Ltd, and the first dual-cyclone vacuum was built under the Dyson name, known as the DA001. This was soon replaced by a near identical model called the DC01, shortly after Dyson opened its new production facility in Chippenham.

The Harbinger of New Vacuum Technology

Dyson vacuum cleaners all use cyclonic separation technology to remove dust, allergens and other particles from the air, making their entire product line one of the most superior on the market. This technology enables the air inside of the cleaner to spin at very high speeds. This results in strong and consistent suction. It uses a three-step process to do this, first gathering all dirt and dust through a filtration system. It is then sent to a bin, with the larger particles caught and separated. The technology provides lasting suction but it also reduces the chances of your vacuum clogging. When you are done cleaning the vacuum, empty and your vacuum is ready to go again. But that’s not all. Dyson is known for a few of its other signature technologies.

Dyson’s cinetic science technology can be found in its Dyson Cinetic Big Ball canister vacuum, which boasts superior suction power that never fades. According to the Dyson website, “it captured the microscopic dust before it hits the filter.” This means there are no dirty filters for washing or replacing.

Dyson’s Ball Technology is designed for ease of maneuverability around your house furniture and spaces. With just a slight wrist motion, the ball rotates in every direction effortlessly. It features a low center of gravity that keeps the vacuum upright, no matter how it’s pushed or pulled. Its ball design is also super sturdy, which keeps the appliance’s motor protected to last long.

Radial Root Cyclone Technology utilizes 12 compact cyclones to generate centrifugal forces for maximum airflow and capturing microscopic dust. Some Dyson vacs even use Two Tier Radial Cyclone technology for even faster, better airflow with the use of smaller cyclones.

All Dyson Vacuums Feature HEPA Filters

While many vacuums on the market claim to have some of the best HEPA-style filtration, nothing beats the real thing. HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filters are designed to remove 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 micrometers. This means it cleans the air from pollutants like small dust particles and allergens. Dyson’s vacuum cleaner appliances all feature HEPA filters, each specially designed for your vacuum cleaner type. Their filters are guaranteed to last a lifetime.

The James Dyson Foundation

As if creating revolutionary vacuum cleaners and other appliances weren’t enough already, James Dyson does even more for society with the James Dyson Foundation. Dyson believes that engineers are the world’s problem solvers and that the world needs more of them. The James Dyson foundation exists to support students and teachers through education programs, teaching materials and bursaries. Their mission is to encourage more young people to pursue science, technology, and engineering. That’s why the foundation runs the James Dyson Award, an international design award to celebrate, acknowledge and elevate the work of the next generation’s design engineers.

Built to Last

One of the best things about Dyson’s cyclone technology is that by eliminating the need for bags, Dyson vacuums don’t lose suction over time. They don’t use filters that have to be washed, repaired or replaced. They’re also made of the same material as crash helmets, so even if the vacuum gets banged up a little, it won’t get damaged that easily. As a result, these vacuum appliances have a longer lifespan.

Although Dyson vacuums are priced quite a bit higher than many vacuum cleaners on the market, Dyson vacuums are built to last. While you can find great vacuums for affordable prices, they often require repair and replacements shortly after their warranties expire. Even though their initial purchase might be cheaper, the cost of repairs and replacements add up over the years, costing more than a high-end, long-lasting vacuum. With Dyson, your vacuum will outlast most other vacuum models, and will rarely require repairs or replacements with proper use. Even though you pay a bit more, in the beginning, it saves you money in the end, simply because it is made to last.

Most Popular Dyson Vacs on the Market

While Dyson is extremely popular for their innovative designs that revolutionized the vacuum cleaner industry, some of their vacuums seem to be especially popular. Here are the top 3 ever-green Dyson vacuum cleaners that continue to attract customers for their excellent performance:
